Dear Program Subcommittee:

Thank you everyone for reviewing the proposals and Susan for reviewing all of them!

Attached is a spreadsheet with the tracks, proposal numbers and names, reviewers, scores, recommended or not, and comments.

We’ll talk tonight at the meeting about how to move forward and decide on which proposals to accept.

Subject: [2014apapa] 81 session/mobile workshop proposals to review!

Dear Program Subcommittee:

There are 81 session proposals posted as documents on the Program Subcommittee folder for your review and scoring. Here’s a shortcut: https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B3LxQC801INBNXhYVDVMUjIyZHc&usp=sharing. Some of these proposals are mobile workshops.

The ranking sheet is also included with the proposals. I added a Notes line to record info that might be needed when we discuss the proposals.

These are the assignments for reviewing the various categories of proposals:

·         Mike Swidrak – Impacts of Changing Demographics; Economic Development and Revitalization

·         Kristen Crossney – Community Development & Neighborhoods; Food & Health

·         Alexis Williams – Environment, Energy, & Sustainability

·         Charlie Guttenplan – Planning Core Principles: MPC, Zoning, Codes, and Ordinances

·         Tom Shaffer – Transportation

·         Jill Hall – Planning Operations; Historic Foundations

·         Sharon Maclean – Innovations in Planning Techniques

Please return your ranking sheets to me by April 2. We will still have to meet after then to go over the rankings, decide which proposals to accept or reject, and discuss the overall conference schedule regarding sessions and mobile workshops.

We received a couple of inquiries after the proposal deadline asking if we want sessions on two topics: (1) the latest Census data and tools from the Census Bureau’s Philadelphia regional office and (2) best practices for streamlining and standardizing permitting for solar projects.  I don’t believe there are proposals for these topics that were submitted prior to the deadline. Should we ask these folks to submit proposals?

For the reviewers listed above, please acknowledge that you received this email. Also, let me know if you might need someone else to help you review the proposals assigned to you, or if you have any questions.

Thank you!

Tom Shaffer
