Hi Maryke, please check the visitor passes when you next visit the estate. I do not know how many we have but I think we need at least 20 at the moment and this will increase as more houses are built. Thanks, Terry

> Good evening all,
>
> It is with mixed feelings that I feel the necessity to circulate a letter addressing the security and general adherence to regulations within the estate as well as the attitude of certain home owners towards the Management Committee and their way of dealing with various issues arising out of non-compliances, as this is now becoming a regular occurrence.
>
> It is concerning that we still have security and other issues when, in my view, all the necessary rules and regulations are in place to organize, regulate and run the estate in a mutually beneficial way to enhance the living experience within the estate for everyone. All it requires is that everyone reads, understands and adheres to them and reports non-compliances they become aware of, to the M.C.
>
> Unfortunately, one needs to understand that, firstly, the M.C. execute their roles on a non payment basis and that everything is done, as most of them work, in their private time.
> This, possibly, being the reason for lack of interest by most homeowners’ to serve on this committee although it is a vital and integral part and responsibility, for the ultimate
> success we should all be striving for in this estate.
>
> Secondly, it is perhaps time to draw up a check list for the Managing Agent of what needs to be attended to and how regularly, for all regulations, such as auditing the control sheets at the entrances and ensuring that the security personnel are informed of regulations, as lately I notice new personnel at the gate.
>
> Example: A friend visited this afternoon but never had a Visitors Card in his vehicle. On checking at the gate I was informed that they do not have enough of them. None of the personnel had reported this to Maryke nor does it appear that she picked it up.
>
> Owners’ must understand that non-compliances by your family, visitors, employees and contractors’ are your responsibility when entering the estate.
>
> Example: A labourer came running past my home last week without a Paryskloof Jacket on so I followed him to the house where he was working as a casual, for the garden service. I enquired from the responsible person why he was allowed to leave the premises, to be informed that he was looking for a toilet. This is not allowed and needs to be conveyed to the responsible person, by you the homeowner.
>
> I honestly feel that without the necessary support and co-operation of all, in trying to assist the M.C., by themselves adhering to regulations this problem will continue and security within the estate will be compromised. I have said it before that as a result of the number of people within the estate, building contractors’, sub contractors’, garden services, domestic workers etc. the threat is more likely to come from within the estate as they are the ones that see all comings and goings of households.
