Ms. Mala Gaonkar, our alumna of 1990-91 TYBA batch will give a talk on
'Mental Health Programmes for community' on Thurs. 17th Dec. from 12-45 onwards,
in room 2 science.
Mala has some wonderful professional experiences which are truly worth knowing about.
All of you are cordially invited. 

Here are a few details about her......
 
she has been staying in Sirsi , Uttara Kannada, Karnataka, since the past 20 years.

Presently associated with the following work:
- Works with a team of members to operate Chetana, a rehabilitation center for individuals  with disabilities.
- Working as a Clinical Psychologist in Sirsi.
- interested in understanding more about education and its relevance to personality and life.
  Visits schools  in Sirsi and one school in Pune for own learning and interests.
she feels fortunate to be living in a beautiful place that has blessings of nature in terms of forests, streams, unpolluted air, amazing 
wildlife and very loving and affectionate people.
Education.....
 
Studied till Class 10 in St. Annes High School, Orlem, Malad.

From Class 11 till  TYBA, Ruparel College; Completed BA in Psychology from our Department.

MA in Clinical Psychology from Mumbai University, Kalina.

M.Phil in Clinical Psychology from NIMHANS, Bangalore.

Started work in Sirsi from 1996; is married to Giridhar, a Psychiatrist, her batchmate from NIMHANS.
has a daughter, who is now 18, has just finished A level exams and Mala is delighted that she too has Psychology as one of her subjects!
