Respected Sir,

I am Raghav Gupta from group 2 and you changed our project from digital stopwatch to real time clock. Sir our group submitted the abstract also for a digital clock. Sir my doubt is that by real time clock do you mean like the real time clock we have in our laptops or mobiles where it does not lose time when it is switched off. Because for that we require a secondary battery to keep the clock running. So do we have to add an external battery to the Spartan kit. Is there any other solution to this problem sir?

Raghav we have only one power supply mode in spartan3 adding external
battery is difficult so implement digital clock features like hh:mm:ss
date time

Sir,

The output can't be in HH:MM:SS as the seven segment display only has 4-7 segment slots.
So I think there is no problem if we show the seconds with the help of blinking LED's.
If there is any issue then please report quickly?

And also please have a look at the abstract we have mailed and tell us if it is fine.

There is one more issue regarding the delays whether we have to take them into account for better accuracy or not.

no real time clock does not mean secondary battery.

It means it get sychronized with the execution delays

i mean if you are doing a stopwatch counting seconds
and you press the stop button and the time elapsed by the processing
should not be counted
This is done by implementing watchdog timers .(read more about the
same)

one thing u cannot insert secondary battery to the spartan 3 kit
use reset button to set to a fixed time every time u switch on or use
the input switches to set the input switches to set it.
