Congrats!!! We did it!!

Dear Team,

Despite the weather and kick-off room debacle..We did it!! I think Debasree aunty said it best in a facebook post, "Thanks to the BTC team for all the time and hard work put into this (be the change). Because of you today there are hundreds of volunteers putting in their day of service in so many areas of Austin!!! You are making the Mahatma proud."

I hope everyone is taking time to reflect on the fruits of your labor the past few months! This was truly, truly a team effort, and what an amazing group of folks to have on this year's planning team! The kick-off event is one for the books -Amar said it best..we pulled it together Mcgyver style...recycle bin podium, hand made vacuum cleaner and all!! 

More importantly the work of the volunteers we recruited, the relationships developed, and the community impact is most profound. Thank you for your commitment this weekend to being at the AARC grand opening, entertaining Samip last night (special thanks to Amar for personally hosting him) and everyone for being up before the crack of dawn this morning ;)!! 

So we gotta have one last horrah (and the group picture we didn't get today) & a debrief.  I was thinking we could meet for lunch next Sunday (October 6th) around 11:30am? Or if you prefer we can meet for an early dinner around 5pm?! Please let me know what works best for you.

 

Lots to still follow-up on...but let's just take a moment to enjoy and get some rest ;)!

I am definitely pooped but we all did it!!! I think it was a wonderful turn out and everyone was really happy with what they were doing. 

George, I lost you at the festival, but I hope it was more fun towards the end.. By the way... the nutella and banana crepe was amazing!

Enjoy the debrief, folks!  I forgot I'm in Dallas this weekend, so I won't be able to attend.

Adding my two cents worth of appreciation and congratulations to the core team and everyone who did so much to create the finale and multiple social action throughout the city! Privileged to be a part, and my kids had a good time while participating in positive, successful social action… which from a parents perspective holds incredible value to their overall development. Awesome!

 

I thoroughly enjoyed the kick off, every part, tacos and all, as the quality of what was delivered was so fun, zestful (Ramey Ko), meaningful while at the same time a feast for our intellect. Great job, wonderful community! Thank you Sonia, thank you everyone!
