HI ...Is anyone else having a hard time figuring out information on services and who qualifies for what with medicaid??

I am really having a hard time finding a cut and dried list of services for the elderly frm medicaid anyone have any help to offer?

Are we supposed to come up with our own sources for the information? As in Google (reputable sites) and NC LIVE? I take it the documents she is referring us to are not sufficient enough? I'll look at my stuff in the late morning and report back any info I can find that may be helpful. I have the PPOs v. Managed Care part but I will see if I run across any of the other groups' material in my reading. Ginna

Nathan that is exactly why I was askking for help silly....I have been trying to sort through really vague material for about 6 hours.....I do not want anyone to GIVE me their work just looking for guidance here! LOL

My nursing class is missing AGAIN!!! I need to finish my assignment! I have 4 pages but I know I wasn't even half way done with the list of questions.  If anyone can email me the assignment that would be great! I'm doing the HMO, PPO, insurance one. I think it's either #3 or 4? UGH it's sooooo frustrating not to be able to access my moodle!

Anyone else having this problem? And know how to fix it? I email Causey & she is out of the office til the 13th! I also emailed Sellers & Feste, but who knows if they can fix it?

Describe the different parts of Medicare (A, B, Advantage, D, and Medigap). How much would each plan cost a client per month (what is the premium) and what is the deductible? Who is eligible? Are they automatically enrolled? Summarize important services covered and importantly not covered in each plan. Who funds Medicare? Is Medicare spending increasing? How did the reform act change the projections in Medicare spending? (See Medicare spending and financing fact sheet)

Who does Medicaid cover? (See Medicaid matters) How did the recession affect Medicaid? Describe these 3 NC Medicaid programs: pregnancy Medicaid (MPW), Medicaid for infants and children (MIC), & the “Be Smart Family Planning Program” and North Carolina Health Choice for Children. What are the income eligibility requirements in NC for each/ compare?   Focus on family 2, 3, & 4. How much does each plan cost a client per month? Is there a premium or deductible or copayment? What services are covered in the plan (summarize)? Do you see any big holes in what is not covered? Does the plan run out (i.e. when does Medicaid for pregnant women stop coverage?)  Do all providers have to accept Medicaid?

For Employer health benefits how much has premiums increased 2000 to 2010? How much per month? Who is paying for that increase? Who makes up the uninsured in the United States?  How does this affect their health/ finances? (See Kaiser report The uninsured: a primer) How is uncompensated care financed?
