Q: 63.6 says light mortars can be fired by a squad "like a normal support weapon." Does this mean the squad could fire a light mortar and still use its own inherent firepower the way it could with a MG?

Yes, and with the same operations capabilities (See the QRDC). Further, light mortars are not subject to a Covered Arc because they are considered SW (1/2" counter).

Thanks, that is what I had assumed, but it confused me that the ATR rule specifically cites rule 8.4, but the light mortar rule just uses the vague language "like a normal support weapon"
