In the Hill 621 scenario the German has two radios.  Per the rules, this means he has two different modules of artillery support.

Q: The dice roll under 45.2 to determine what kind of support is known to both players, and only the number of fire missions is secret, correct?

Q:  Is the dice roll under 45.2 done for both German modules at the start of the game? Or does the German have to wait until the second radio is on the board before he rolls for the second module of artillery support?

Monty must let us know if the SQLA OBA convention is in play.  These allow the player to select the size, and each size has a set number of fire missions.  If not...

For the rules, only the number of fire missions is hidden.  In VSQL, you may use a key in delayed notes to index the dr to fire missions, mixing the order so the dr is known but the missions are hidden until revealed at the end of the game.
For example,
DR      Fire Missions
1........4
2........3
3.......1
4........2

Enter the delayed notes and send to your opponent before rolling for rolling for number of missions.

Optionally upon mutual agreement of players, increase the fog of war and keep the number of fire missions unknown to both players.  Checking for availability at the end of each fire mission.  The first fire mission is guaranteed.  Thereafter a dr determines if another mission is available.  Roll at the end of each completed fire missions.

Fire mission         dr or less
1                             4 (guaranteed)
2                             3
3                             2
4                             1

if using a six sided die, 5 & 6 are ignored.

Determine during setup.  The Advanced Sequence of Play does not include size/# fire mission selection, so I assume it happens prior to play.  Players are free to agree on when, but if they disagree then it rolled for during setup.

Hi Chris,

The Questions and Answers are:

Q: The dice roll under 45.2 to determine what kind of support is known to both players, and only the number of fire missions is secret, correct?

A:  Correct.  This is contradiction to 45B of the Squad Leader Conventions, but for this tournament let's stay with rule 45.2 as the default position.

Q:  Is the dice roll under 45.2 done for both German modules at the start of the game? Or does the German have to wait until the second radio is on the board before he rolls for the second module of artillery support?

A:  Yes, both modules are rolled for at the start of the game.

These are the default positions for both of these questions.  If both players agree to keep the caliber of the module secret, the number of missions to be fired and/or if the second radio is rolled for when it enters the game, these are all acceptable.  If both players do not agree to these changes the default position outlined above will govern.
