An AA gun with a 360-degree mount and with parenthesized IFT equivalent wants to fire at a glider outside its covered arc, using its parenthesized fire value rather than the To Hit method.

63.19 specifies that a 360 mount gun pays only a +2 DRM on the To Hit column when firing outside its covered arc.

Q;  What IFT  DRM   if any  applies to this gun firing outside its covered arc using its parenthesized fire vale ?

Hi Nate,

I will answer here and Scott can chime in if needed.

Answer:  The +2 DRM for changing covered arc does apply to the "Infantry Fire Equivalent" (parenthesized fire value) per the note at the end of 63.19.

???    I'm confused, I see no reference to the IFT in 63.19      this is from the 4th edition rulebook:

63.19360° MOUNT This feature is depicted by a white circle around the gun. Normally, guns can only fire into their Covered Arc, and must be rotated in place like SP guns to fire in another direction (48.5). However, guns with a 360° mount may rotate and fire in any direction like tank turret guns, with a much smaller TO HIT DRM (+2, case A). Such a 360° mounted gun, with 2 or more shots per player turn, could fire one shot at one target, then rotate and fire another shot at another target, if desired. Note, however, that if the target is outside the original covered arc, a firing modifier will still apply for each change of the covered arc. 63.19  360° MOUNT   This feature is depicted by a white circle around the gun.

Hi Chris,

You are correct that there is no mention of IFT tables in 63.19, but it does say in the note that +2 modifier is to apply to each change of the covered arc.  Therefore, if the gun changes CA and uses the IFE, the +2 modifier applies to that shot.
