Hey Alex,

for YouTube they can become partners at www.youtube.com/partner and then release their content (either as ad-supported or rentals). I think that should also give them the ability to syndicate to Play store though I am not 100% sure, it can be a good place to start.

No, unfortunately I don't think this is going to be possible. On Android videos are played on SurfaceViews, which unfortunately don't work too well with things like alpha properties and animations due to the way in which they are implemented.

I know YouTube have full featured films on there as well, I think Canada and US not 100% on the UK.

A friend wants to release his documentary on Google Play, do you know any one, who's a pro on this that you can put me in touch with?

I will ask around about Play, not sure what the process is.
