Trust you are well.
I am writing to you with a personal request to participate in first of its kind IIT R&D Fair being held at IIT Delhi from October 14 - 15, 2022. All 23 IITs are coming together to exhibit industry-relevant technologies that they are working on.
The Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) have been part of India’s holistic growth post-independence. Conceived with the vision to lead India’s progress in science, the IITs have grown to be torchbearers of research and development across sectors.
India now boasts of 23 IITs with world-class infrastructure and resources. The research and innovation pool at IITs have diversified significantly with the demands and needs of time. It is felt however, that there is still a gap in collaboration with the industry which IITs need to fill.
Keeping this in mind, we have planned the first-ever R&D Fair where all the 23 IITs would come under one umbrella to share and showcase the industry-relevant projects and research being undertaken. The event would demonstrate 75+ projects in designated booths and 6 theme projects across diverse themes, such as:
- Communication Technologies (including education and 5G)
- Robotics, Sensors & Actuators, and Semiconductors
- Environment and Sustainability (including air, water, rivers)
- Manufacturing (including smart, advanced and industry 4.0)
- Healthcare (including devices and digital health)
- Societal Needs and Impact
- Smart Cities & Infrastructure (including smart mobility)
- Defence and Aerospace
- Clean Energy & Renewables (including Hydrogen and EV)
- AI/ML/Blockchain technologies (including quantum computing)
These themes are aimed at further strengthening the industry-academia connect, thus seeking new possibilities in research and innovation. Directors of all the IITs and principal investigators of all projects will be personally present.
The event is scheduled from October 14 & 15, 2022, at IIT Delhi, and on behalf of the steering committee, I cordiality invite you to be part of IInvenTiv 2022. We look forward to having fruitful discussions for a better comprehensive understanding on key areas of interest and seek out more collaborative avenues for holistic advancement across sectors.
I have attached a detailed agenda for your reference and ready action as appropriate. I look forward to your participation to make it a successful event. I also seek your constant support in fostering a strong partnership between IITs and industry to transform India into a technology driven nation.
