It seems there has been a small run on Th!nks for sale. I am adding mine to the mix (I bought a Niro EV):Black, 77,000 milesUsed to be stored inside but was my daughter’s car for a while and parked on the street.Had a mold bloom after a particularly bad Portland storm and not being driven for a bit.Professionally cleaned /detailed afterwards.Has classic headliner droop (FDA caulked around the rear door glass afterwards).
Some rust at the bottom of driver’s door.
Has a loose electrical connection somewhere so right speaker not always working and right side interior switch illumination sometimes off (but comes back with a tap on the dash)
Drivers side speaker grille cracked from using knee to open door.
It has been my daily driver again since April 2022. I still love the way it drives, parks anywhere, saves money, and waves a middle finger at oil companies and climate change deniers.
It has had two incidents of the traction battery “failing” in the last two years:
1st was when driving in a torrential downpour (even for Portland, Oregon) when the power limit came on and then the warning light came on and the car stopped driving. It would restart and I limped its to safe parking, cycling through restarting, warnings, and battery quitting (the car had a good charge). I drove it to Jim and Brian at FDA Auto (in Portland) two days later they could find no issue but sealed a few openings under the c air and applied lots of dielectric grease on battery contacts and it drove fine until the 2nd incident during the recent snow deluge in Portland. The car gave me the same warnings (giving me time to make a better decision) before the traction battery quit Again, it started back up and I could limp to safe parking cycling through the process and ther battery had an 80% charge. I left the car at work on Friday and drove it home on Monday and have had no problems since.
I don’t think the car has a gremlin, I think it doesn’t like EXTREME wet or cold.
I’ve given you a brutally honest description. That said, make me an offer? Will post pictures if needed, but this crowd knows what the car looks like and it shows 77K of driving but drives as brilliantly as ever (except for the two noted incidents). the
