I had the same issue with mine earlier this month. The main battery would not charge overnight on my 240V charger, but given the symptoms I thought it was the 12V battery. I used a 120V AC to 12V male cigarette adapter that I have to get it started (probably just coincidence, given that it was the board in the main battery, not the 12V battery), and drove it to Hawthorne Auto. They said they had already ordered some for some other cars that had the issue. One week later, my car was back in my hands and working fine.
When my wife picked up the car, she was told that it could be because I was turning on the car too fast. Now I try to make sure the heater, fan, and A/C are all off (well, coldest setting on the heater, A/C and fan off), I turn the key to the "on" position and let it sit until the red battery light comes on (in the status bar to the left of the shift indicators)- usually 3-5 seconds. Then I turn the key to "start".
I didn't get the explanation myself, but if the heater, fan, and/or A/C is/are on, it can draw a lot of power from the 12V system (I assume that the A/C runs off the 12V system like everything else). I'm not sure how the added power draw would affect the "starting" of the other components, but apparently it can.
