Over the weekend, the Black Think City stopped working.  When you turn the key on or to start, all the lights come on as normal but instead of the Green Car light coming on, the "Power Limit" light blinks and the red 12 volt battery symbol lights up.  I tried charging the 12v battery overnight with a 2amp charger but still no joy this morning.  I have contacted our local dealer (Jim at Hawthorne Auto)  and he indicates it is probably a control board in the Enerdel battery.  He has some on order already and will let me know when they come in.

I had the same issue with mine earlier this month.  The main battery would not charge overnight on my 240V charger, but given the symptoms I thought it was the 12V battery.  I used a 120V AC to 12V male cigarette adapter that I have to get it started (probably just coincidence, given that it was the board in the main battery, not the 12V battery), and drove it to Hawthorne Auto.  They said they had already ordered some for some other cars that had the issue.  One week later, my car was back in my hands and working fine.

When my wife picked up the car, she was told that it could be because I was turning on the car too fast.  Now I try to make sure the heater, fan, and A/C are all off (well, coldest setting on the heater, A/C and fan off), I turn the key to the "on" position and let it sit until the red battery light comes on (in the status bar to the left of the shift indicators)- usually 3-5 seconds.  Then I turn the key to "start".

I didn't get the explanation myself, but if the heater, fan, and/or A/C is/are on, it can draw a lot of power from the 12V system (I assume that the A/C runs off the 12V system like everything else).  I'm not sure how the added power draw would affect the "starting" of the other components, but apparently it can.

The cars computer checks the 12 volt battery to be sure that it will have a good stable power while it is running, sow if the battery is low the computer interrupts the start sequence.
