Here's the details to the Youth Basket Camp this summer.  Please take a minute to look through it.  This is another great way to build meaningful relationships and connect with people we don't quite know well in our lives.

Please forward this message to your fellowship members.

You may have heard and seen posters around SVAC about a youth basketball camp that SVAC will be holding during the months of June, July, and early August.  This youth basketball camp is for incoming 3^rd and 5^th graders (boys and girls) who are beginners in basketball and are looking for a fun outdoor activity to do during the summer. 

 

Please note that this event is an outreach event.  The flyers that have been posted around the church is being distributed to all incoming 3^rd and 5^th graders in the Milpitas elementary schools during the months of April and May, so please keep this outreach event in your prayers.  Our prayer is to have SVAC and non-SVAC members sign up for this activity, so we encourage SVAC members not only to sign up for the basketball camp, but to also invite friends who have not had the opportunity to learn about the Christian faith.  Because this is an outreach event, the basketball camp will include social activities, such as a BBQ and a Jeremy Lin (Linsanity) movie night, which will provide an opportunity for campers and their parents to be invited to church, watch a testimony of a fellow believer, and build relationships with SVAC members. 

 

Lastly, the organizers of this event are still looking for coaches.  If you have a passion for youth and outreach and have grasped the fundamentals of basketball, please consider joining the team!  While we encourage all coaches to attend every event, our schedule is flexible in that if you want to coach but can only attend some of the meetings, you are still welcome to participate and help out as a coach.

 

When:  Saturdays, 4:30-6:00 P.M. (June 7, 14, 21, 28; July 19, 26, August 2, 9)

 

Where:  William Burnett Elementary School Outdoor Courts (400 Fanyon Street, Milpitas)

 

Cost:  $25 total for all 8 sessions (includes jersey)

 

Other activities:  Includes BBQ and Linsanity movie night
