Hi ES brothers and sisters,
I hope this email finds you well. How's your thanksgiving list from Sunday sermon coming along? I hope you keep writing the
thanksgiving items. Again I would like all of us to write out those 50 thanksgiving items. I
believe all of us can make it to fifty, but it won’t be that easy. I chose that number intentionally because it takes a while
to come up with that many. Like I said, the last
ten to fifteen are the hardest. Here’s the thing…hopefully this exercise keeps us
in a thankful mood/attitude. Your mind
will stay alert to all the thanksgiving items that you should include throughout the week. Finally take the list to the Lord and give thanks to God for all that you wrote down (and also for the ones that you have no room to write down).
Having done that, there's another way to respond and give thanks to God for all that He blessed us. It's by giving back to the community. Our church will be involved in some community outreach/service projects this winter. Here's the list and the needs for each:
1.) 11/24 Sun 1p-5p @ Milpitas Food Pantry (help packing food boxes)
2.) 11/25 Mon. - 11/27 Wed. 6p-8p @ SVAC (distribute food boxes to our Milpitas communities)
3.) In Dec., we are going to form a team to visit our
church neighborhood and build friendships an invite them to come to our 12/25 Christmas luncheon
4.) 12/25 Christmas Day (help serve lunches to the people from our communities)
Please contact me directly if you are interested in helping in any of these areas. We'll need a lot of manpower to accomplish this. Can I count on you? I would like to thank you all in advance in praying for this and also giving back to our Lord.
Be thankful and may God bless you and your family in this Thanksgiving season.
