The Latest on Brooklyn Kickball's Annual National Tournament

Dear All,

Happy Memorial Day Weekend.

As I have mentioned in Facebook posts, and as you all know from the last 2 years, our league has had many, many problems with our field in McCarren, the biggest being the lights.  But then, I picked a date (July 6th), which many deemed inconvenient and inconsistent, yet twice we've hosted around the July 4th Holiday, including the very first one (July 2nd, 2006).

So, I have asked Brooklyn Parks on no less than 10 occasions to change it to July 13th.  The problem is that they are always overwhelmed, and my conversations with them are preoccupied with just maintaining our normal Sundays

I expect us to get the July 13th date, but as backup, I applied with the Queens Parks Department to have Queensboro Park on Saturday, July 13th as well.  So yes, you may be playing Brooklyn Kickball in Queens, right on the East River!  It's gorgeous, actually.

So, that's the latest.  I should know next week for sure about where and when.  I hope Hoboken returns from hiatus, and I hope to see a squad from Philly!

Unlike everyone and everywhere else, this tournament remains free.  If you guys wanna play for money, we could have a separate tournament,
