I believe in the past it has always been in the papers and we will probably need Allison to do what we have done in the past. Other publications should also be considered. I feel certain Josh Flory with Knox News who is their commercial real estate reporter (Property Scope) would want to do an article.

Allison, As part of your sponsorship with KNS, have you used your ad space? I have not kept up with your contract there in any detail.
thanks, mary.

I worked pretty closely w/Allison on the news release & I think Betsy read it as well…When a news release is emailed to the news media, however, one must call every reporter/editor you send it to and ask them if they can/will use it in their media outlets…
Yes, it’s time consuming. The hardest (and most satisfying) part of media relations comes after the news release is emailed…Truly.
Also, remember this isn’t “hard” news…and our organization is a soft one that needs attention when sending out a news release…I think we talked about this a few months ago when Allison was working the media with the goats, etc. – I pretty much remember a long email with some tips/steps to effectively getting attention for some coverage. But it is labor-intensive, and fostering a close relationship with the media takes time as well…
I think, however, this can still be a possibly good time to call WBIR, WVLT, (if you do it soon) and see if you can be on one of their programming to share the winners and email them images of those winning biz/properties…noting also the new award – the Evergreen, which went to Ijams.
Gotta run…
thanks, mary.

We
sent a news release immediately following the event. Flory covered it in his
Property Scope (online only) last year, and he was on the news release
distribution. We have not been getting media play the past 3-4 years (that's as
far back as I can remember).
