Hello All!

Please look at the attached list of former Orchid Winners and by the committee time tomorrow, if you could please have your top three so that we can start finding our Evergreen Winner. We also need to figure out a prize for that tomorrow. Invitations will be out by Friday morning. I will bring a list of all that are receiving invitations tomorrow.

In doing this exercise each year, I propose we evaluate only those who have had the potential to remain Orchid-worthy the longest, thereby first limiting our top three choices to those circa 1979.  If we cannot reach consensus any given year, then include the next year (1980), and so on.

I like that idea. I was a little concerned about selecting a property for an award called "evergreen" whose building isn't much more than a decade old. Your proposal would provide a structure that acknowledges the oldest evergreen property first.

Also - are we going to have criteria regarding a property's lapse in orchid-worthiness? The word evergreen implies that a property has maintained its orchid-worthiness since the time it was given the award. Some properties may have switched hands and had a period of "ugly".

I have a conflict this afternoon and won't be able to be at the meeting - sorry.
