The Student Mentorship Program of IIT Delhi, invites applications for mentors from students who are currently in their 2^nd or 3^rd year of their B.Tech. degree from all department and from all hostels. Each mentor will be allotted 6 to 8 mentees from the coming 1^st year. The mentor may have mentees in the same hostel or some other hostel.

Each and every mentor would be required to guide and motivate his/her mentees to have a better academic, social and personal life in IIT Delhi. The 1^st year students need to be aware of the IIT system and a senior student can make them aware of the various opportunities which IIT Delhi provides in academics, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. Since most of the students are away from home for the first time, the mentors should make them comfortable in the new environment and help them get over any problem they face. It is an opportunity for the mentors to make use of their valuable experience they have had in IIT. It will help mentors to become better leaders in future. The mentors can discuss the various problems faced by the mentees on a public forum created and maintained by the review committee and come up with a solution. The english classes for first years was an initiative by the student mentorship program and we aim to continue it the following year too.The mentorship review committee will keep a regular check on the performance of the mentors by taking feedback from the mentors and the mentees.

Students who are interested to mentor 1^st year students, please fill up the form and send it to mentorshi...@gmail.com Shortlisted students will be called for an interview starting from 15th april which will be taken by the mentorship review committee. The mentors will be selected by the review committee on the basis of their application and the interview.

Please find attached the student mentor application form and the document on Mentorship which gives the details of the program. 

Last date for sending applications is 15th April 2011.
