Volunteering Opportunities with BloodConnect

Want to be a part of one of biggest student run initiative in the field of blood donation?

BloodConnect with support of NSS IIT Delhi invites applications for the post of Tech team Volunteers (preferentially students who will be going to 3rd or 4th year) and Volunteers (1st, 2nd year undergrads) for being a part of the organization.

Volunteers (10 positions):

• Helpline: Handle requests for replacement donor/blood.
  
• Marketing: Contact colleges for Blood Donation Camps and contact corporates for CSR.
  
• Creativity: Should be innovative and have had a past experience. Required to make posters/pamphlets/videos.
  
• Publicity: Handle BloodConnect online publicity on website and Facebook.
  
• Blood Donation Camp Organization: Help us when we have our blood donation camps at different places. Learn how to organize a camp.
  

 Bring smiles to many faces by being the link between the blood requester and the donor. Join BloodConnect and be a life-saver.

Tech team (1-2 positions):

About the work:

1. For our expansion, we are looking to ensure that our model can be functional at a state level (similar to the college level). It requires testing of our current DB model + improving it for the state level model.
2. Improve on a system developed to bring transparency across Delhi- maintaining daily stock of blood of blood banks

3. Development of new web portal + mobile applications for our better functioning

4. Maintain current portal + ensure its smooth functioning

 Work requirement:

1. The first, second task would require good knowledge of php mysql for database anagement and drupal webforms and rules for UI development.
2. Individuals with the knowledge on any or both of these + free to help our cause, please let us know.

About BloodConnect:

BloodConnect, started in IIT Delhi in 2010, is an initiative in the field of voluntary blood donation that is now being managed by students from various colleges in Delhi. So far, in its pilot phase in Delhi, BloodConnect has collaborated with 20 colleges, a few corporate houses and has organized around 50 blood donation camps. The team has also handled over 350 emergency blood requests till now.

With the collection of over 5000 units, BloodConnect has been able to save over 12,000 lives till now!!!
