The Dramatics Club (BRCA, IIT Delhi) brings to you,

“RAAVAN LILA"

A hilarious play being performed by the Institute

Play Production team.

Drama is a mode of fiction presented through a live performance to an audience. Drama requires one to surrender oneself to emotions, feel sympathy, elation and sadness synergistically with the actors on stage

Dramatics club presents you”RAAVAN-LILA”

Jigarpur is an idyllic little village situated in Madhya Pradesh and like most other idyllic little villages its inhabitants live in a bubble of their own making cut off from the world following age-old tradition with a clockwork like regularity without being motivated by materialistic desires as seems to have become the rule of the world but change strikes when Kartar Singh the actor who plays Raavan in the local production of Ram Lila refuses to go up on stage on grounds of poor pay. The play offers an incisive picture of the social norms and economic changes sweeping rural India through its well drawn-out characters focusing especially on Kartar Singh and his antics which turn the play from Ram-Lila to Raavan-Lila.

The Dramatics club aims to provide the enthusiastic students of IIT Delhi to discover the thespian in them by acting in this annual production and after weeks of preparation we bring you this play which seeks to do all of the above as well as entertain its audience .For this we would like to extend our warm invitation to everyone to come watch this play.
