The Student Affairs Council invites you to a glorious opportunity to meet and interact with some of the nation's thought leaders and listen to them discuss upon the contribution of IIT's to nation building.

The event is scheduled for November 4, 2011 (Friday) in the Dogra Hall from 5:30 PM onwards.

Session 1: India Interacts (Panel Discussion, 5:30 PM - 6:30 PM)

Does the IIT system encourage innovation?

Session 2: Interaction with Dr APJ Abdul Kalam (7:30 PM - 8:30 PM)

How can India innovate better?


The session with with Dr Kalam will have constitute of an interview with him (for 20 minutes) followed by an interactive session with the audience (for 40 minutes)

The panelists are:

Dr Anand Patwardhan
Anand Patwardhan has been making political documentaries for nearly three decades pursuing diverse and controversial issues that are at the crux of social and political life in India.

Dr Sam Pitroda
Sam Pitroda is an inventor, entrepreneur and policymaker. Currently Advisor to the Prime Minister of India on Public Information Infrastructure & Innovations, he is also widely considered to have been responsible for India’s communications revolution.

Dr Dinesh Abrol
Dinesh Abrol researches on the issues of Science and Technology Policy at the National Institute of Science, Technology and Development Studies.

Anchor -Deepak Amin

An IIT-Bombay graduate, he worked at Microsoft for over 6 years he came back to India in early 1996 and set up Indicus, a web services company. He co-authored an Internet industry standard for communications between infrared enabled small devices.
