Rakshak Foundation cordially invites you to attend an interactive session by IIT Kharagpur Alumnus and current IG, National Investigation Agency, Shri Pidaparthi Venkata Rama Sastry. He holds a master's degree in Public administration from the Maxwell School of Public Affairs, Syracuse, New York, USA as well as a master's degree in Industrial Management from IIT, Kharagpur.
He is an Indian Police Service officer having 18 years work experience in the fields of Law Enforcement and Anti Corruption. He has served Gujarat Police, Uttar Pradesh Police and the Central Bureau of Investigation in various capacities. While in CBI he handled several sensitive and complex anti-corruption investigations of abuse of office by apex level public servants, procurement corruption, illicit acquisition of assets, bribe taking and embezzlement of public funds. He also served for over a year as Director of the reputed CBI Academy where he pioneered inter-agency training cooperation. He was awarded meritorious police service medal from the Govt. of India in the year 2006. Known for his grasp on international law enforcement and governance issues, he was involved on various occasions in committees convened for policy advice to the Government. In his free time, he loves to play chess and watch movies.
The topic of his talk would be "How can the common man be part of governance?"
