Dear Student Coordinators,
Please come to the Senate Room at 11 am tomorrow (29th September, Saturday) for an introductory session with the Associate Dean (Curriculum).
Have a look at the proposed outline for curriculum review:
- Curriculum Review Introduction Session by Prof. M. R. Ravi (Associate Dean, Curriculum) on Saturday, 29th September 2012 at 11 am in the Senate Room for a brief outline of the implementation concept note and the associated areas for brainstorming, formation of subcommittees
- Student feedback via online authenticated survey / general feedback through student coordinators on different programmes offered by the departments (ex. ME1 vs ME2, EE1 vs EE2, relevance of Dual degree at the time of admission, mechanism to switch to Dual degree at the end of 3rd year, any new / relavent programme suggestions etc.) before 15th October
- Students will discuss mainly on the following issues, and will form an opinion by 15th October 2012
- Non-graded credits
- Department / inter-disciplinary specialisations
- Minor areas
- Dual degree conversion at the end of third year
- First year courses
- Examination procedure / methodology of testing
- After that, interested students will be sorted department wise and suggestions on respective department course structure (based on credit structure and existing courses) will be worked out before having the Institute Curriculum Workshop (which can be held in the first week of November)
- These suggestions can finally be incorporated by the departments when the finalize the programme structure by January / February 2013
- At any stage, as soon as there is any development on PG Curriculum Review, a similar procedure can be adopted to obtain feedback
