Astronomy club IIT Delhi
in association with Mars India Society presents Celebrating the wonder- Mars Rover 'Curiosity'
Human
minds have been wondering every night since long back ancient times
looking at sky. The inquisitive minds have always been interested in exploring the exotic worlds. The quest for another intelligent race and new habitats in universe is getting interesting day by day. To add to this quest the NASA mission "Curiosity" is set to explore our neighbor mars.
This Event is to
commemorate and celebrate the scientific wonder that is the Mars Rover
'Curiosity'. Being dubbed as the Mars Space Lab, Curiosity gives us a
fighting chance now to understand the mysteries of the planet that we
hold so dear in our extra-terrestrial fantasies. Signs of water, soil
and atmosphere conditions are some of the properties that Curiosity will
study on Mars. Its landing at 11pm IST on 6th August.
This is more a motivational talk on why we are interested so much in mars + what makes this mission so much interesting?
We will have a overview of the cutting edge technologies involved.
We have with us a
personal recorded message from MSI President Dr. Robert Zubrin, and a
dedicated video of the rover assembly and Curiosity mission from Jet
Propulsion Lab, NASA and a lot more!
