Yeah I agree.  We might get close though.  I have a 19" LCD screen that I bought for $100.
A type of multitouch interface can be found for $20.  Mini ITX motherboard + atom processor is $60.
That includes onboard graphics and I think sound as well.  Some big things need to be purchased
and figured out still: power supply and RAM, but I don't think this needs to be real powerful.  With
the right design, we could keep this cheaper than any netbook, and have a very large touch screen
take the place of a mouse and keyboard.  Some major design decisions have to be made though.
I've been working on the project but people have not been responding very quickly to my messages.
No one else has really posted anything, so I haven't put the time into writing up everything I've done yet.
