The Tickle of New Leaves
The baby sunlight showered golden kisses
The body was lifted with new hopes
And for the first time it felt like
There were no goodbyes.
The separated hearts
Didn’t feel the pain
As she slipped into a white satin dress
And caressed her skin with the soft touch of grass.
The trees swayed in the breeze
Playing hide and seek with the twigs lying on the ground.
Oh! How much this heart yearns to be with you
You, the one who left me drenched in love
From head to toe in the deadly winters.
It’s spring now and you’re in the new arms.
Not sad, as I stand here with arms wide open
Embracing the ocean waves
Crashing into me with great force
Fulfilling the voids, you left behind.
And now the Sun is high in the sky.
