You Are Spring to Me
As we were walking through the woods,
Leaves swirling through the air.
You looked at me and asked,
"To what season could I be compared?"
I smiled and looked around,
Then breathed in the faint smell of dew.
"Well, my Darling." I said, my answer found.
"Spring surely reminds me of you."
You looked at me funny,
Your lips forming a lighthearted smile.
"Oh, do I give you allergies?"
"Cause' you've been sneezing for quite awhile."
I shook my head no,
And you insisted for an explanation.
I laughed and said, "Just so."
Impatience fuelling your frustration.
"Don't look at me like that,
You know that I mean well."
Rolling your eyes, you fixed your hat,
And said, "but there's something more to tell."
My heart then swelled with adoration,
And kissed our fingers; intertwined.
"Yes, that much is true,
But there's no doubt that you're just as divine."
"The flowers hold nothing against you,
For you are as pure and delicate,
The harsh winter may come,
But the thought of you will push me through."
"Yet, these words are merely nothing.
And so, the world may speak for me."
And let you see, that the change you have brought,
Has given me hope."
"You are Spring to me."
