Spring’s Comes Calling
The breeze comes skipping, a miracle in making
Nature is upbeat, with a high note, a captivating whistle
Whispers through widening cracks on winter's folds
Spring knocks on sealed windows, with a paint of gold
Gaily wheeling on sun kissed streams, rainbow orbs
Winter shuffles Northwards, its spartan canvas rolled
Bare branches yawn and awaken, aflush with vigor
To bear the weight of a million leaves, buds & gossips galore
Life bursts full of promise on slender shoulders
Voracious is the hunger, to grow and create living etchings
Adorned in taffeta and fluted frills, twines and curly tendrils
The canopy is crowned with heady florescence
Busily bees, butterflies, birds and dragonflies bustle about
Making honey and elixirs to feed their hungry fledglings
Leaves of hearts, saucers, spikes and spears
A million shades of copper, plum, satin and rust
Polished and glistening, retinue of natures wedding extravaganza
Coming seasons will trade these freshly minted burnished currency
Nature’s canvas suddenly is so full of joyous colors
Sun the alchemist, breaks rusty locks of winter’s limbo
Famished brooks well quicksilver jest, caressing frozen banks
Filled with feist and verve, they gurgle happy notes
Satin earth, cleaved by blades of countless grass
Bedecked with a sparkling crowns of million diamante dew
Many a brave jade thursts through even concrete cracks
Nod their head exuberantly donning a sunny cap
I skip along collecting Spring's calling cards
Dancing lithe on the soft breeze, proclaiming aloud
Spring is here with an invitation to let my hair down
