THE SPRING

Walking in holding the fingers
Of the old dreary winter,
Smiling and flamboyant walks in the Spring,
Regal and magnanimous like the 'Season King',
Like the radiant lover,
Under the colourful floral bower,
As the cuckoo sings
Melodious strings,
When daffodils, lilies and magnolias bloom,
Snowy clouds float like spume,
Playing hide and seek with the Sun,
Being a part of the festivities that have just begun,
Festivities that celebrate life,
Telling us that there is happiness waiting for us after days of strife,
That there is so much to look forward to,
Smiles, laughter, fragrances and colours too,
Golden sunny summers,
Monsoons and happy swelling rivers,
Spring brings in joy and cheer,
Urging us to hold onto this life dear
When things come to disappear
Then again to reappear,
That there is nothing to fear,
Nor despair,
So just step ahead and go on,
For there is so much to be done,
Just enjoy it all, slog, work, dance and sing,
At the next bend waits for you 'The Spring'.
