Here's a rare clip the brilliant Aswad (before they found pop hell) on Pauline Black's TV series Black on Black.

Funny you should post that interview, I just watched it the other week.

Here's a similar one. Ranking Roger interviewing UB40 about the 30th anniversary of Signing Off...

Great interview.  As good as Signing Off was, for me Present Arms was the album they never matched again.  It's also good to hear them speak fondly of 2 Tone.  For years they tried their best to distance themselves from it.

Hard to believe that Brian Travers, Astro and Ranking Roger are all now dead.

Interesting how they acknowledged the influence of jazz early on, as well as the obvious dub

I loved that early sound, was still enjoying them at UB44, and then didn’t even mind some of the mid 80s pop-reggae for what it was

But after that, I literally can’t listen to a single track

Van Morrison thought they had taken slightly too much influence from his track Moondance when they wrote Burden of Shame. He took them to court and won.

Very interesting! I didn't know that. When you hear them back-to-back you can hear it alright, but the feel of the songs is clearly very different.
