For those who want to relive their youth and recall a time when radio was worth listening to.

Here's an archive of complete John Peel Shows.

Thanks Jason. Still have a few C-90s with bits of Peel shows on.

An impressive list.  It's easier to name the bands who didn't record a session for the John Peel Show.

I was listening to The Undertones' Session from 1978 and was reminded of the story behind.  Peel had invited the band to record a session for his show but the band couldn't afford to travel to London to the BBC's Maida Vale Studios  where the sessions were recorded.  So at his own expense he paid for The Undertones to record session in Belfast.  He kept this fact to himself for over 30 years.  How man DJs would do such a thing today?

Very true. He was more than just a DJ. He had a true love of music and helped out many a band in their early days. A legend.

Of course "Teenage Kicks" was his favourite song.
