Hello group

If you are looking for a way to do cost effective WSPR on 144 MHz, or above for that matter, the RFzero may be just the solution you have been looking for:http://www.rfzero.net/ You may even tweak the open source code or write it yourself if you like.

This looks very cool, I am interested in getting a beacon going on 2 mtr WSPR here in Spokane WA. thanks for passing this along.

Hello Mike

We will be happy to help you in getting on the air in a smooth way. If you connect the RFzero to e.g. a RA30H1415 power module from Mitsubishi (RF Parts in CA.) you will have a nice 25 W beacon.

We have A LOT of beacon experience from operating the OZ7IGY beacons: www.oz7igy.dk and from developing the Next Generation Beacons platform:http://rudius.net/oz2m/ngnb so you will be in the best of hands.

Both Warren, WA8TOD, and Steen, OZ5N, can now confirm that the RFzero can be used on 23 cm for WSPR with 100% decodes with reference locked receivers. However, there has been no success on 13 cm.

Hi Chris

Steen, OZ5N, uses the LimeSDR https://myriadrf.org/projects/component/limesdr/ that is good up to almost 4 GHz so RX-wise it is not a problem after it has been reference locked and he may also use his 10 GHz setup. Warren, WA8TOD, has a mixer to SDR solution that at least in theory can go a bit above 4 GHz:

At 10 GHz (RFzero at 108 MHZ and a Kuhne x96 multiplier) PI4 decodes smoothly.

But it has to be kept in mind that the RFzero uses the Si5351A so it is still quite an achievement.
