Let me be the newcomer who complains about something for a minute :)

Anyone ever thought about moving this group to groups.io? I'm on many ham groups and this is the only one on googlegroups. I find groups.io to be much easier to use.

Carol,KP4MD, and I started this group here many years ago because it was convenient. It seemed better than yahoo and other options at that time.

Are you now volunteering to take it over and make a successful move, saving history, happen?

I’ve watched this list for a long time.  Nearly dormant.
We locals in CM88 are now on 2m wspr again this afternoon.

I can volunteer to start a new group over there, I'm the one who did it for the bozo list. However, I'm not aware of any ability to migrate the history. What do you think?

As I'm not regularly even on VHF and up WSPR since I've moved Colorado, I'm probably not one who should decide and I have no special desire to continue to administer it, but perhaps Carol does. I do think, however, that there is considerable value in the history, files and observations that have been posted here over the years.  I don't like the idea of two groups to support identical interests so I think it important that a mechanism to retain what we have is valuable.

As it stands, there are currently 127 members from quite a few countries. I haven't measured the size of the postings and data.  It would seem like we are not the first to consider this. I know of other groups which have moved but neither do I know details. It does seems strange that there be no way to move a group, including its history.

I defer to Carol.

I’ve seen many others migrate to groups.io

Hi all,
When I set this up we had Yahoo Groups and Google Groups, groups.io did not exist.  Most of the Yahoo Groups migrated to groups.io.
I have no particular preference, but as Glenn said, if we leave this group dormant all the historical postings will eventually be deleted.
We still occasionally refer to observations that we have posted here.

I'm on many e-mail groups. Some on groups.io, some here on Google. I really don't see any reason to move a Google group. Why try to fix something that isn't broken? In the process you're guaranteed to lose users, at the very least.
