Here is the plan for Friday, I'll drop the sheets you need, register, pens paper etc to you tomorrow.

Date:- Friday 20th March 2015.

Venue:- Southwater Infant Academy.

Badge:- Disability Awareness

6:15 - Beavers arrive/Register.

6:20 - Reminder/Brief Discussion on Code of Conduct.

6:30 - Discussion on Disability Aids.

Ask what a Disability Aid is (wheelchair, walking stick, frame, seeing dog) Who knows someone who uses one of these?

Discuss a Paralympian:-

Paralympian Ellie Simmonds is a swimmer.

Her condition is called Dwarfism. She hasn't grown taller than 4ft.

Despite her disability she has 10 World Records to her name. She won her first Gold Medals at the Beijing Olympics when she was just 13 yrs old. She was the youngest paralympians to win a Gold Medal!!

She began swimming at 5 yrs old.

She now has an OBE.

She is an inspiration & has said.... 'I knew I would have to give it absolutely everything I've got'

Do you think she let her disability get in her way? 

6:35 - One handed activities in ships.

6:45 - Come back together & discuss what was easy/hard.

6:50 - Games. Choose 2 games.

7:10 - Close out circle.
