£250 from @homeestates

Hi all,

Could we please discuss how we use the  £250 donated by Paul Davies?

He is a good friend & would be great publicity for him -  I have some pics to put out on social media & local press to raise awareness for our group & additional funding needs.

Some of my parents have asked what the money would be used for - Ideally for all the children across all sections to benefit.

How about it goes towards an activity day at South Lodge or the like?

Hi all,

So, ignore my typo!! I clearly meant Lodge Hill, not South Lodge!!

However, having thought some more, I propose the funds are used for camp blankets. The camp blanket element of the 'Camp craft' badge is something we struggle with at Beavers & I can source a bulk order of blankets from Ikea. Its a great addition to any young person as a keepsake - I know full well with 3 children, badges get misplaced!

A camp blanket can be used over & over. It will also be a permanent memory of the young persons (& parents) time in scouting.

What are everyone's thoughts?

I’m up for South Lodge. They do a good sausage, but after the spar I’ll have the Kombu aged duck breast, with consommé, carrot and ginger puree.

Hi

Camp blankets are a nice idea but I think this was done in Cubs no more than a couple of years ago.  Certainly I would say that the majority of Scouts have these (Fin certainly does and I've been sewing on badges ever since. Holly does too, but that's only because she liked Fin's). Paul could probably confirm.
