Pride, Wisdom and Garden
The exhibition delves deeply into women’s stories, weaving her family history with the shared experiences of many others. Ju’s art examines how identity, belonging, and generational memory are stitched into every fibre of these handmade items. The exhibition opens a dialogue across geographies, blending Ju's experiences with other women's. Elements of the exhibition, produced in collaboration with local artisans and women’s communities in Bangalore, add a new dimension to this narrative. Each encounter with cultural symbols unique to a new geography enriches her story, highlighting the distinctiveness and commonality of women’s handicrafts. By honouring the ethnic heritage passed down from mothers to daughters, Ju aims to create a collective story stitched from individual lives.
