I prefer a friendly "human readable" name for myself when others look
at the membership list in our group. You may find that your default
name is your email address (which can be quite hard on the eye to read
sometimes) or that you simply want a less formal name to appear for
yourself (like "Cornelis Janse Human"... ouch!).
To change the way your name looks to others on this list, do this:
- Click on the "Edit my membership" link on the right hand sidebar
- On the next screen, update your "Nickname" to read anyway you please
- this is what others will see in the members list
- Save your update
Done!
PS: This is how I became "Akela Corné" as opposed to
"corneli...@avonscouts.org.uk"...

I should have added that you do all of this name update stuff from the
group email website, which can be found at: http://groups.google.com/group/1lsscoutgroup?hl=en
