I saw Ringo and his All-Starr Band perform at Bethel Woods last
night...what a show!!!

I hadn't seen Ringo in many years. This band which consists of Edgar
Winter, Rick Derringer, Gary Wright and others is much tigher than
when I saw Ringo in the 1990s.

Truly a show of contrasts and versatility from "Hang On Sloopy" and
"Back-Off Boogaloo" to "Dream Weaver" and "Frankenstein". btw, Edgar
Winter, who I once saw with his White Trash band decades ago, was
fantastic. Ringo was pretty spry for a guy turning 70 in a week or
two...and in good voice too. God bless him.

Bethel Woods is on the former site of the Woodstock concert. There is
a museum there about 60s music, and, of course, Woodstock. The stage
area is set near to the area where Woodstock took place...on the
property once owned by Max Yasgur.

If you have a chance to go there, even if to the museum only, you
won't be disappointed

Read this wonderful blog about Ringo:

What a well-written, and thouroughly spot-on analysis of Ringo.

Like the writer of the blog, I have been defending Ringo's drumming to
friends and acquaintances, pointing out the remarkable backings and
fills he did on The Beatles' recordings, as well as telling them that
it was almost impossible for him to keep time during the noise of a
Beatles' concert.

Although there are bound to be folks who dislike Ringo, I can't help
but think that they have to be in an extremely small minority. He is
affable, honest, forthright, funny, and yes...loveable. And it's
true...in the early days of Beatlemania, the teen girls loved him.

The only place where I have somewhat of a disagreement with this blog
is the statement that The Beatles wouldn't have made it without
Ringo...although that is true on one level, the truth of the matter is
that The Beatles wouldn't have made it minus any of the four of them.
