I know there's a big interest in music in this group. I covered Pete
Seeger when he did a concert at the Florida Music Festival in White
Springs, FL., in 1977.

He was about 60 when the photos were taken and, from the perspective
of a 30-year-old, I thought he looked old. Now that I'm older than he
was then, I think he looks young.

I hope you enjoy one of the world's treasures.

I saw Pete in concert on his 75th(?) birthday in1985.

He was fantastic.

Then half of the office accompanied him for an anti-apartheid rally on
the college campus.

*** I meant to write "audience" not "office"...I've been working too
hard at the office. ;-)

But to add to the comment. The Seeger concert I attended was at
Cornell University on Seeger's on May 3, 1985. This was during the
height of the college "divestment" protests against colleges doing
business with the apartheid South Africa. Students on the Cornell
campus built a replica "shanty town" much like those containing poor,
disenfranchised black citizens of 1980s South Africa. Students lived
ther 24/7. After the concert, I was among a crowd who marched with
Seeger to the "shanty town". Later, much to Cornell's shame, they
bulldozed the shanty town...not wanting their illustrious alumni
financial backers see it during the mid-June Alumni gathering.
