Yes its an awful summation of George. George did show a lot of anger
in the years following the break up. When he played Madison Square
Garden--(not Bangladesh). he asked sarcastically if marijuana was
legal. He chastised the audience and looked pissed off. In his book,
Eric Clapton describes an incident that made George so angry, he
didn't know how to reapproach him--(not Patti Boyd related.) Don't
know if your read Clapton's book, but his friendship with George
doesn't come off as intimate as has been described.
But George had a great sense of humor. I thought him wittier than
John. He did have sarcasm about the Beatles, as did John. But his
angry time passed. He had so many friends, it sounds innacurate to
believe he hated people. He did smoke too much. I saw a video where
he played Japan with Clapton. The two were being interviewed and they
were joking about smoking and George said something about how it would
be convienient to have a guitar with a built-in ash tray. It can be
said he had throat problems when the Beatles first came to America.
As to sexual addiction, I heard from someone who knew a groupie that
he demanded specific favors on the spot. . Hey if girls were willing,
who was he not to take advantage? .
