HAZY BLUES OF WINTER

We couldn’t breathe in the misty morning.

The haze blurred our concept of time.

The time running behind our backs.

The time breaking through thick air.

The time being time,

sliding away.

We couldn’t see past the mist.

Couldn’t deal with the vexation

of our own fists.

I couldn’t look at your irritation

materializing

in a long sigh.

Exhaling.

Inhaling.

Lingering as a stock

I was supposed to buy.

It was a late hour of market exchange.

Shares of unrest

sold with nothing

but hazy caress.

This poem is unpublished.

Biography:

Kirila Cvetkovska, Macedonian, Macedonia 1990, currently living in Macedonia.

I am Kirila Cvetkovska, an artist and art historian from Macedonia. My research and art practice dwell on the themes of collective memory, reminiscence, loss and detachment, analyzing the cross-cultural values that encompass these issues and their manifestation. I am engaged in discovering the links between poetry, photography, history, art history and psychology, while generating a blend of empirical and artistic examination of the past and current social, as well as personal tensions we experience. My particular practice is a quest for nurturing creativity and original expression, meditating on the exchange of cultural values and liberating oneself from the restraints of consumerism.
