Basic Beekeeping 
                    & Local Honey Tasting

Sunday August 29th 11-5pm @ the School Farm
  bees in hive
ECOSF and Slow Food SF invite you to catch the buzz and swarm on over to the School Farm for a busy day of learning and sharing all about bees and the sweet, sweet gifts they offer.

Bakers Alley is also a potluck so
bring a dish or dough to bake or share, toppings for pizza, and if you got, em' your own utensils to keep this a zero waste event.

                                              Activities
pizzas in cob oven ~11-1pm Firing up the oven, exploring the farm,
               some light farm work, and enjoying  
               refreshments

~12-1pm Basics of beekeeping with 
               representatives from the SF beekeepers
               Association
 

       ~1-2pm Cooking with honey in the cob brick oven led by Naomi Friedman
                    and Xanthie Drankus from Slow Food SF.

   ~3-5pm Robert MacKimmie of "City Bees", will guide a tasting of honeys  
                 gathered from different neighborhoods in San Francisco.

Location
:  Next to the athletic field at the School of the Arts and the Academy of Arts and Sciences   555 Portola Dr. San Francisco (click for map). Enter campus via O'Shaughnessy Blvd @ Portola. Close to 36, 44, 48, and 52 Muni lines.  From the parking area on O'Shaughnessy, walk down the hill to the right towards the athletic field. We'll be on the farm the behind the bleachers across the field. See ya there!
