Aloha y'all,

It's a wonderful time to be volunteer opportunities in San Francisco.  There's a calendar full of events and activities, and more coming every day.  The number of amazing garden and farm projects is quite encouraging, and there are choices in activities of all kinds, including cob bench building, gardening and nursery care, food collection and distribution, county fairs, book readings, concerts and other showcase events.

This weekend starts on Saturday morning with a Natural Building Chicken Coop Workshop and Community Gathering at the School Farm, 555 Portola Drive.  Later that night The Sunshine Castle will host a Garden Party and Concert.  Sunday the excitement continues with a Legume Lover Workshop at 11:30am and Photo Adventure Club at 3pm during the work party at Hayes Valley Farm.

One of the new volunteer opportunities is working with the children at Malcolm X Elementary School in Berkeley.  Rivka is coordinating a summer garden project that runs three days a week (Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, from 8am-3pm).  And the garden at 18th and Rhode Island also has a Friday volunteer opportunity, usually with Tree in the morning and David in the afternoon.

The weekdays are filling up with regular volunteer opportunities and activities too...  at  Alemany Farm, Garden For The Environment, The Free Farm, The Secret Garden, The Rooftop Garden at GLIDE, Finny Farm, Hayes Valley Farm... and there's actually more! For the full calendar listing of volunteer opportunities, including more info on the events mentioned please visit the Volunteer Dashboard.

If you have an event you would like to add to the dashboard, please lemme know!.

I hope to see you at the next Kitchen Garden Workshop, "Starting a Plant Nursery at Home", Tuesday, May 25, 6:30-8pm at Hayes Valley Farm
