Hey neighbors,

Y'all might have heard that the same TOPA law that is allowing us to try to purchase our building as a limited-equity co-op is currently being debated by the DC Council.The changes they are proposing would make it much harder for buildings like ours to use TOPA going forward. Personally, I think it's really important that the Council learns about how we have used TOPA here at Park East!

Our neighbor Damiana from DC Jobs with Justice is organizing a TOPA Town Hall with Councilmember Robert White on Tuesday, May 27. Would anyone like to maybe go together? We could organize a rideshare. Here is the info: RSVP to the the TOPA Town Hall on Tuesday, May 27

Some of us will also be testifying or submitting written or video testimony to the DC Council on Wednesday, May 28. If you want to join these efforts, you can sign up to testify here. Again, let me know if you want to join or carpool to the Council meeting. :)
