Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and getting ready for the holidays ahead!

As I've mentioned to several of you, due to current and upcoming commitments, I don't plan on being the Chair of this committee going forward into 2017 (not enough energy to spread around) however  I still plan on being part of the committee.

And as it seems that no one really wants to step up into the position of Chair, I'm suggesting we think outside the box and as a group lead this committee. We can share ideas of events we would like to bring to fruition via email and if the majority is in favor then we set a date to meet and organize logistics, that way the brunt of the planning doesn't fall on 1 or 2 people specifically until the day of the event. We can rotate taking notes at the meetings and getting the recap out to the whole committee in case someone could not attend. And since many of us attend the Board meetings, whoever is at the meeting can give an update.

My concern is that this committee will disappear and that would be unfortunate, but I will respect whatever direction the majority would like to take moving forward.

Thoughts?

I think it is a great idea.  Thank you.  I'm sure we will all contribute and I'd be happy to host meetings, especially this winter with Brad gone.  The house stays relatively clean...most of the time...

I also think that’s a great idea. I don’t want this committee disappear. Guy and I will certainly participate.

Thanks you, Vanessa.

Charlie and I agree that we do not want to see the committee disappear.  The suggestion that we share the chairperson's responsibilities sounds like a great idea.  Thanks Vanessa!

I'm glad you all feel the same, we have a wonderful and fun group here and have done some really fun stuff...lets keep it going!

Chris had suggested a 1720 Residents Progressive Yard Sale (participants would setup their wares in their unit and residents would travel from unit to unit to see what's for sale - imagining it would work similarly to the Halloween/Trick-o-Treat and/or Progessive Dinner method). I think this is a great idea because then we don't have to worry about weather conditions and/or getting permission (timing of it). if most agree that this is a great idea, anyone interested in meeting in January to brainstorm?

Absolutely! Love the idea. I had started giving things away as I thought we would never have the yard sale.

Hey all!  So sorry that I'm just getting to my personal email now and responding to this thread!! I just want to say thank you Vanessa for your time and commitment invested in our committee! You always got us down to business, but had a great time while doing it!  I am in agreement that it would be sad if our committee no longer existed.  I like the joint effort idea and I'm on board with it for sure!

I will be out of town on January 11, but could attend the meeting via FaceTime or even Skype (if I knew how to set that up) lol.

As for the "yard" sale - I think it could be a good idea if people wanted to go to the participating units.  Would make it easier for those selling items as they would not have to take them out of their units/building and then lug back up if they didn't sell.

That's my two-cents :)  Who all is going to the Committee Party at Kurah?

Hope everyone is well and keeping warm!!
