February 22, 2016 Meeting and next meeting date...

Hi everyone,

We discussed the following yesterday:

• South Loop Market Tasting in the lobby
• Will need to be presented to the Board for permission to serve alcohol in the lobby, next Board Meeting is March 28th, will see if we can get approval from the Board via email (I will follow up after speaking with Holly)
• March event; if we can't get Board approval via email, maybe we'll look at a May event date and present to the Board at the March meeting.
• Thursday night 5:30-7:30pm
• Unit (Name) Tag, instead of Resident's name, just their unit number - this way people can meet folks on their floor
• Guitarist - Doris and Guy have some recommendations

•  Progressive Dinner
  
• April 1st is the date picked
• Lets start brainstorming on catchy-fun names for it that ties in the fact that even though it's April's Fool this is no joke :)
• Still to be discussed and decided:
• By what date do we want to start requesting hosts
• When do we want to announce on Doorwaze
• Menu Planning
• Start/end time

• 1720 Yard Sale
• Held in the McHugh parking lot
• 1720 Residents can participate in selling items
• To be held in May/June

• Reggies Bus and Sox Game Event
• Chris will inquire about how to secure the combo 
• Cost is around $10 - Bus pickup to Reggies then to Sox Game
• Need clarity on what's exactly included

• PDNA Food Truck Night
• Have a night that 1720 Residents are invited to meet as a group and share a meal and get to know each other

• 1720 Movie Night
• June/July proposed as event timing
• Location would be in the McHugh parking lot
• BYO blankets/chairs, food, etc.
• Movie projected against wall (Kroll's)
• Chris has a projector
• Ferris Bueller's Day Off - possible movie due to anniversary this year

• Women's Park Events
• No alcohol allowed in the park
• Movie night - invite residents to meet up and look for 1720 identifier
• BYO blankets/chairs, food, etc.

Event ideas/suggestions:

• Bowling Night - 10PIN?
• Tailgate Party - Sept/Oct
• Kroll Trivia Night - Wednesdays (in Autumn)
• Art Tour/Walk - Pilsen
• Dive Bar Crawl
• Relaunch Book Club - Michelle Kane to Chair..?

If you have any ideas please send them on or input on the ideas above.

Next meeting, can everyone make it on March 15th or 16th at 7:00pm?

Good morning everyone,

Just received word that the Board has approved our request to have the “Tax Relief Tasting Event” in the lobby on April 15th.

Can we meet on Monday 3/14 or Tuesday 3/15 at 7:00pm to discuss logistics?  I'm happy to host, just need to know which date/time works for the majority.

Also, we can discuss the Progessive Dinner, don't think we can pull it off by 4/1 but our more experienced members can chime in on this.

I'm sorry I haven't been good at responding to these emails.  I think that due to my work schedule and other commitments, I'm not going to be able to contribute to the Social Committee as much as I'd like.  However, it looks like you guys have come up with a lot of great ideas and so I am looking forward to being an attendee!

Sorry I'm so late responding here, but I agree with Doris you are a wonderful addition and look forward to seeing you at the events but also know that even though you can't make it to every meeting, just come to the ones you can (if you'd like) no pressure, you're always welcomed any time :)  All our schedules get crazy, but no reason for you not pop in when possible....the more heads/ideas the better!
