Yes, although I was the 2nd platoon flight lead and had Air Mission Commander orders, so I flew a few DCS missions with the VNAF pilots, but I NEVER any combat assaults, S.E.A.L. missions, and gunship missions with the VNAF pilots.

Here is a copy of a November 24, 1970 mission sheet showing where VNAF pilots, Tam, Thuong, Hung, and Monh flew with the Aircraft Commanders on missions that day!

Yes, I do remember the Vietnamese pilot group.
I had the privilege of flying with them for about 2 months, It was part of the vietnamasation
program. On one of our flights we were forced down due to small weapons fire. Fortunately for us all turned out fine  !

I do remember the VNAF group and flew with them as part of the Vietnamasation program. Unfortunately I'm not very good with names, and don't remember anyone in particular. On one of our mission's, we made a precautionary landing due to small weapons fire .

The VNAF pilots joined the 162ndAHC with missions as the 1st Pilots late during September 1970. They were still flying as 1st pilots when I DEROSed in December 1970!! Here is the units mission sheet from November 24, 1970 that shows some the names of those VNAF pilots!

Happy New Year my friend!

Great stuff, I remember flying with Hung and Tan.
Whent to the O club with one of them, he refused to give up his firearm at the bar. Created a minor incident when the club officer took it from him. Don't remember which one. Had to retrieve it at the Prevost !

Anybody on this forum ever remember a guy named Norman "Hoot" Tesar from Geneva, NE.  He was a crew chief on a Huey.  He served from '65-'67.
