Games People Play … 3009-2k17
I’m nuts to think ‘twas by chance.
Stood by my car; a practiced glance.
Smiles at office; in evenings romance.
You had me covered from every side.
Then a giggly massage within my ride.
Oft stated feel good and overt pride.
Sleek long legs with high heel boots.
The often reminded common roots.
The world you cared just two hoots.
Inevitably came the career advance.
My call to the CEO for a pay enhance.
To sit on our table and yes the dance.
I waited for better days to come.
With you on a cruise and then some.
I could hear church bells and the hum.
Your looks allured, eyes were coy.
Sweet silky hair that I used to toy.
How would I know ‘twas all a ploy.
In no time then you drifted away.
You appeared busy even by day.
‘Twas then I saw the games people play.
I had waded into hurt neck deep.
I was shocked upset and lost sleep.
I had not sown that I now reap.
