Troy Cochran, USA
— I am an American, with ancestry threading back to Scotland/Ireland and the Shawnee Tribe of native America. I was born in the Pacific Northwest region of the United States. That was in 1962, which makes me 20,075 days old, give or take ~ a sobering fact that helps to put my story in a more amusing context. Although I see myself as a poet intrinsically, I've worn many hats. I served (1985-1990) as a yeoman in the U.S. Navy, Submarine Service, Pacific Fleet. Since then I've worked in the fields of law, education, manufacturing, and carpentry. I might as well add my many months of homelessness to this resume, for that has also contributed to my treasury of experiences. I've authored two books of poetry: "Stone & Bone: A Workingman's Poetry" and "The Gospel of Troy." I've also authored a book on the topic of reality engineering, for lack of a better term, entitled: "GENESIS: A Social Vision (Forensic Essays on the Psyche, the World Mind, and the Body Politic)." Though I've traveled over much of the world, for the time being I'm back in the Pacific Northwest, residing in the city of Eugene, Oregon with my daughter of 21 years.
